Kayaking to the Lilly Pond Falls

We awoke to a glorious day and a deserted campground, all of the other campers and camper vans having already departed.  We  decided to take advantage of the campground facilities instead of travelling too far away.  We rented kayaks from the campground and paddled up the river to Lillypond Falls.  We were all alone, which is rare indeed on the North Island, especially now during a school holiday.  It was lovely, with ducks and geese along the way.  The falls were small but picturesque.  It was a quiet and restful day.
