We took an overnight flight to Kilimanjaro and arrived at 2:30 in the morning.
Where it had been cold, blustery and snowy in Istanbul, it was hot and humid when we landed. We were met at the airport by a very nice driver named Barak and taken to our accomodations at the Rivertree Hotel. We finally got to bed by 4 am. Our wake up time, 0815 arrived far too early and we were taken off to the local airport to meet our plane. We passed through villages along the way.
We were on our way to Olakira camp, which moves with the migrating animals.
