Rain greeted us on our last morning in York and we said cheerio with the intention of heading to the Peaks National Park. We arrived and spent an hour driving through the park and came to a new decision-to go eve further south to see a completely different part of the country.
We ended up in Tiverton where we spent the night and planned our travels for the next day.
We took te coast road and visited Porlock, a fishing village with picturesque qualities. The boats were resting on their keeles because the tide was fully out. This led to great photo opportunities!
We later went to Porlock Weir which was also a lovely fishing village.
We then found more interesting roads to our next destination. We found a private toll road which lead over the cliff tops...and it was terrifying for me and exhilarating for Paul.
This led us to Porlock Weir which was also a lovely fishing village.
...and onward to the Valley Of Rocks which, with its unusul rock formations and wild goats put one I mind of the wild west.
Then we found more un-marked roads which took us over the cliffs to our next destination. Ilfracombe. We found a quaint guest house which gave access to walking paths leading to viewpoint where we sw an incredible sunset.
