North York Moors

After two full days in the old city of York we decided to explore further afield. We took the car and set out for the coast. We drove through the North York Moors National Park and found some un named roads which were narrow but gave us some lovely views.

In our travels we came across a really quaint and traditional pub and we spent some time with the owner. We learned that the area had once been a brick making region.

We also took an interesting route which involved opening gate which blocked the road and later a ford through a small stream in order to see the remains of a Roman road.

Finally we made it to the coast and stopped in Whitby for a short time.
