Final camp- Shinde

Shinde turned out to be the most exciting camp of all!  It was completely rebuilt during Covid so it was an amazing set up situated looking over a water way.

After yet another small plane ride we were met by our guide, Kenny.  He was wondering what we might be searching for and suggested that we look for wild dogs, an aniimal we had not yet seen.

We drove to an area where these dogs had been seen the day before and we came upon them.  They were just waking up and starting their pre hunting activities...preening each other and playing.

Then they left to go hunting.  These animals can run 70 kph and so we strapped on our seat belts and the chase was on!

It was very exciting and after two failed attempts the dogs brought down a Letchwe...a 180 lb antelope!  We watched in fascination as the pack of 28 dogs devoured their kill in 3 minutes flat!
