Goodbye Fjords

On the fourth day of our voyage we continued through the fjords and by the early afternoon the fjords were behind us and the port of Puerto Natales appeared.  The landscape was so different...quite flat with the mountains in the distance.   We left the ship and found the bus stop and started our journey toward our next destination...Ushuaia.   We travel through very flat, steppe like countryside and after two bus rides, an overnight stay in a hostel and a crossing of the Magellan Straights we arrived.

Ushuaia is the most southerly city in the world.  It is a very picturesque spot...with the Andes to the North and the ocean to the south.  Our hotel is a grouping of small lodges in a forest setting...very cute and comfortable.   Katie and Manuel are also here...staying downtown also in a small lodge setting.

Our exploration of the area can be leisurely as we will be here for a full week.
